The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 you pay attention 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
