Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 when he fled like a runaway slave onto a laden ship. 140 Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned. 141 And a fish swallowed him, and he was reproaching himself. 142 And were he not one of those who praise. 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a bare desert whilst he was sick. 145 And We caused to grow over him a tree, a gourd. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (people) or even more. 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Or, did We create the angels females while they were witnessing? 150 Is it not of their own calumny that they say, 151 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if you are truthful. 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 Exalted is Allah above what they describe, 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 So neither you nor those you worship 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 And the angels say, “Each one of us has an appointed known position.” 164 We stand in ranks (for prayer) 165 And verily we! we hallow. 166 And indeed they used to say: 167 If we had the account of earlier people with us, 168 we would certainly be true servants of God." 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 So turn thou from them for a while, 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 And wait, for they will soon see. 179 Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him) 180 And peace be upon all His message-bearers! 181 And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
