The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 And the creating of the male and the female, 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
