The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the pages are made public 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
