Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 and the partitioners, 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Woe to the liars 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 and in the mornings they would ask for forgiveness; 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
