The dwellers in El-Hijr cried lies to the Envoys. 80 And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them. 81 Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure. 82 Then the Blast caught them in the morning 83 and of no avail to them was all [the power] that they had acquired. 84 And We have not created the heaven and the earth and that which is in between them save with a purpose. And verily the Hour is surely coming; so overlook thou with a seemly overlooking, 85 For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master-Creator, knowing all things. 86 And certainly We have given you seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the grand Quran. 87 Do not strain your eyes after what We have given certain classes of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and make yourself gentle to the believers. 88 and say, 'Surely, I am the manifest warner.' 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 and also divided the Quran believing in some parts and rejecting others. 91 Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account, 92 about whatever they had been doing! 93 Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists. 94 We will, surely, suffice you against those who mock, 95 Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know. 96 We know indeed thy breast is straitened by the things they say. 97 So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him). 98 Worship your Lord till the certainty (death) comes to you. 99
