The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers. 176 When Shuaib said to all of them, “Do you not fear?” 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who give less (than the due). 181 and weigh with the straight balance, 182 “And do not give the people their goods diminished, and do not roam the earth causing turmoil.” 183 And keep your duty unto Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old. 184 They replied, "You are bewitched. 185 “You are just a human like us, and indeed we consider you a liar.” 186 So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful." 187 (Shu'aib) said: "My Lord knows well what you are doing." 188 And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day. 189 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
