The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [angels] who range themselves in close ranks 1 and restraining [from evil] by a call to restraint, 2 And those who recite the Reminder, 3 Verily, most surely, your God is One 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all between them, and Lord of every point at the rising of the sun! 5 Verily We! We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment: the stars. 6 (For beauty) and for guard against all obstinate rebellious evil spirits, 7 The devils cannot hear those high above. They would be struck from all sides 8 and are repelled. Theirs is an unceasing chastisement. 9 And if any is able to snatch a fragment, he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So ask them (that is, human beings): “Were they harder to create than the objects We created?” We created them from sticky clay. 11 You marvel (at the wondrous creations of Allah) and they scoff at it, 12 And when they are reminded, they mind not, 13 and if they see any Sign, they laugh it away 14 saying, "This is plain sorcery!" 15 "What! when we die, and become dust and bones, shall we (then) be raised up (again) 16 Or our fathers of yore? 17 You say: "Yes; and you will be lowly made." 18 So that is just a single jolt, thereupon they will begin staring. 19 They will say: "Woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense!" 20 This is the Day of Judgment in which you disbelieved. 21
