Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 In a lofty garden, 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 and goblets set forth 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 So Allah will mete out to him the greatest punishment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
