Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Indubitable! 1 How tremendous is the true event! 2 And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Aad belied the Striking Day. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 In a Garden on high, 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 'Eat and drink with wholesome appetite for that you did long ago, in the days gone by.' 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 O would that it had made an end (of me): 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 and our belief has destroyed us". 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 so today he has no friend here, 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
