۞ And indeed We bestowed aforetime on Ibrahim (Abraham) his (portion of) guidance, and We were Well-Acquainted with him (as to his Belief in the Oneness of Allah, etc.). 51 Recall, when he said to his father and his people: "What are these images to which you are devoutly clinging?" 52 They said:"We found our fathers worshipping them." 53 He said: Verily ye and your fathers were in plain error. 54 They said: "Are you speaking in earnest, or only jesting?" 55 He said, 'Nay, but your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth who originated them, and I am one of those that bear witness thereunto. 56 And [I swear] by Allah, I will surely plan against your idols after you have turned and gone away." 57 Then he made them fragments, all except the big one of them, that haply unto it they may return. 58 "Who has done this to our deities? He must be a wrongdoer." 59 Some said, "We heard a young man, called Abraham, talking about them." 60 The others said: "Bring him, then, before the eyes of the people that they may see (what will be done to him)." 61 (On Abraham's arrival) they said: "Abraham, are you he who has done this to our gods?" 62 He answered, "Rather this biggest one of them did it. Ask them, if they can speak." 63 So they returned one to another saying, 'Surely, it is you who are the harmdoers' 64 With their heads cast down they said, "Abraham, you know that idols do not speak. How then can you ask such a question?" 65 He said: What! do you then serve besides Allah what brings you not any benefit at all, nor does it harm you? 66 "Fie upon you, and upon that which you worship besides Allah! Have you then no sense?" 67 They said, "Burn him to ashes if you want to help your gods". 68 "Turn cold, O fire," We said, "and give safety to Abraham." 69 They sought to outwit him, but We made them the worst of losers. 70 for We saved him and Lot, [his brother's son, by guiding them] to the land which We have blessed for all times to come. 71 We gave him, in excess, Isaac, and Jacob (for a grandson); and We made each righteous 72 and made them leaders who would guide [others] in accordance with Our behest: for We inspired them [with a will] to do good works, and to be constant in prayer, and to dispense charity: and Us [alone] did they worship. 73 And unto Lot we gave judgment and knowledge, and We delivered him from the community that did abominations. Lo! they were folk of evil, lewd. 74 Thus We admitted him to Our grace. He is surely one of the righteous. 75

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
