The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 then he mustered 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
