The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
