We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 Behold, two (guardian angels) appointed to learn (his doings) learn (and noted them), one sitting on the right and one on the left. 17 Not a word does he utter but there is a sentinel by him, ready (to note it). 18 The palsy of death will surely come. This is what you wished to avert. 19 And the trumpet blast will sound: It would be the Day of Doom. 20 And every soul shall come, with it a driver and a witness. 21 Assuredly thou wast in neglect thereof; now We have removed from off thee thy veil, so thy sight Today is piercing. 22 And his companion, [the angel], will say, "This [record] is what is with me, prepared." 23 It will be said to the angels, “Both of you fling every excessive ungrateful, stubborn person into hell.” 24 Forbidder of good, exceeder of limits, doubter, 25 Who setteth up another god along with Allah. Do ye twain hurl him to the dreadful doom. 26 ۞ and his associate [Satan] will say, "Lord, I did not make him transgress, he had already gone far astray himself." 27 He (Allah) will say: 'Do not dispute before Me. I sent you a warning beforehand. 28 The sentence that cometh from Me cannot be changed, and I am in no wise a tyrant unto the slaves. 29
