Seest thou one who turns back, 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62
