The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, holding mansions of the stars, 1 And by the Day promised, 2 And the bearer of witness and those against whom the witness is borne. 3 (Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch 4 the fire with its fuel, 5 When they sat by it (fire), 6 and were witnessing what they did to the believers. 7 They had naught against them save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Owner of Praise, 8 to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. God is witness over all things. 9 Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire. 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 The vengeance of God is terribly severe. 12 Verily He! He it is who beginneth and repeateth it. 13 And He only is the Oft Forgiving, the Beloved of His bondmen. 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 The Doer of whatever He wants. 16 Has the story of the armies reached you, 17 Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? 18 Yet the infidels persist in denial. 19 Allah encompasses them all from behind. 20 Nay; but this is a glorious Qur'an, 21 On a guarded tablet. 22
