When your Lord called upon Moses: "Go to the wicked people, 10 The people of Firon: Will they not guard (against evil)? 11 : He said: "O Lord, I fear that they will deny me. 12 and my breast will be straitened, and my tongue will not be loosed; so send to Aaron. 13 "And they have a charge of crime against me, and I fear they will kill me." 14 Said He: "Not so, indeed! Go forth, then, both of you, with Our messages: verily, We shall be with you, listening [to your call]! 15 And go, both of you, unto Pharaoh and say, 'Behold, we bear a message from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 16 Send the Israelites with us". 17 He (Pharaoh) said (to Moses): 'Did We not bring you up when you were a child? And have you not spent years of your life amongst us? 18 And thou didst the deed thou didst, being one of the ungrateful!' 19 He said: I did it then when I was mistaken. 20 I fled from you because I feared you. But my Lord has given me judgment and made me one of the Messengers. 21 But the favour you oblige me with is that you have enslaved the children of Israel." 22 Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?" 23 [Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced." 24 (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Did ye not listen (to what he says)?" 25 Moses said: "(He is) Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers of yore." 26 (Pharaoh) said: Lo! your messenger who hath been sent unto you is indeed a madman! 27 He said: The Lord of the east and the west and what is between them, if you understand. 28 Pharaoh said, "If you take any deity other than myself, I will throw you into prison," 29 He said: What! even if I bring to you something manifest? 30 (The Pharaoh) said: "Then bring it, if you speak the truth." 31 So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
