Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
