The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 Concerning the Great News, 2 About which they differ? 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
