The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.” 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 So We saved him and all his people, 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
