▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ Then I swear by the setting of the stars, 75 and this is indeed a mighty oath, if only you knew – 76 that this is indeed a noble Quran, 77 In Book well-guarded, 78 which none but the pure [of heart] can touch: 79 (This Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 80 Then why do you dissimulate this Revelation? 81 And have ye made it your livelihood that ye should declare it false? 82 Then how is it that when the (dying) breath is withdrawn into the throat (and rattles), 83 and you are [at that moment] looking on [helplessly] -- 84 And We are nearer to him than you are, but you cannot see. 85 Then why do you not, if you are not to be recompensed, 86 Can you not bring him back? (Answer) if you are truthful 87 And if the deceased was of those brought near to Allah, 88 Then [for him is] rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure. 89 And if he was of the companions of the right, 90 Then (the greeting) "Peace be unto thee" from those on the right hand. 91 But, if he is of those who belied, and went astray, 92 there shall be a hospitality of boiling water, 93 And roasting in a Blaze. 94 This is indeed an utmost certainty. 95 Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) proclaim the Purity of the name of your Lord, the Greatest. 96
True are the words of God the Almighty.
