Thamud denied the warning 23 And said: "Should we follow only one man among us? In that case we shall be in error and insane." 24 "Is it that the Message is sent to him, of all people amongst us? Nay, he is a liar, an insolent one!" 25 It was said to Saleh, “They will soon realise tomorrow who is the mischievous great liar.” 26 Verily We are sending the she-camel as a test for them, so watch them thou and have patience. 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them; every share of the water shall be regulated. 28 But they called their companion, so he took (the sword) and slew (her). 29 So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings! 30 Then We sent against them one Shout and they became like the trampled twigs of the (sheep) penbuilder. 31 Surely We have made this Qur'an easy as a reminder. Is there, then, any who will take heed? 32 The people of Lot rejected Our warning. 33 Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot - We saved them before dawn 34 a blessing from Us; even so We recompense him who is thankful. 35 And indeed he had warned them of Our seizure – in response they doubted the warnings. 36 And they indeed sought to shame his guest (by asking to commit sodomy with them). So We blinded their eyes, "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings." 37 One early morning Our torment brought upon them utter destruction. 38 "Taste My punishment now that you have scorned My warnings!" 39 Hence, indeed, We made this Qur'an easy to bear in mind: who, then, is willing to take it to heart? 40
