The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
