The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 except an old woman who remained behind. 171 and then We utterly destroyed the others, 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
