Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 In an elevated garden, 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 and arranged cushions 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
