He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 because the blind man approached him! 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. 4 As to one who regards Himself as self-sufficient, 5 you attended to him, 6 though you will not be questioned even if he never purifies himself. 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 And with fear (in his heart), 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 and whosoever wills, shall remember it. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of the noble, virtuous, 15 noble, pious. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 and made the path of guidance easy for him to follow. 20 Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave; 21 Then when He listeth, He shall raise him to life. 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 We poured water, pouring it in great abundance, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and herbage, 28 olives, dates, 29 the densely tree'd gardens, 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 But when there comes the Deafening Blast 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 and his mother and his father; 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 On that day faces will be bright as dawn, 38 Laughing, joyous. 39 And other faces, that Day, will be dust-stained; 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity. 42
