The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created man out of a germ-cell 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
