The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of the heaven which contains the constellations. 1 And the promised day, 2 and by the witness (Muhammad) and that which is witnessed (the Day of Judgment), 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 by a burning fire 5 When they sat by it, 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness of all things. 9 Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire. 10 [But,] verily, they who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall [in the life to come] have gardens through which running waters flow - that triumph most great! 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 and He is the Ever Forgiving, the Most Loving 14 Owner of the Throne, the Exalted. 15 and the Most Effective in His decision. 16 Has the story reached thee, of the forces- 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 Nay, but the unbelievers still cry lies, 19 While Allah encompasses them from behind. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Koran, 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
