The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to the diminishers, 1 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, 2 but when they measure or weigh, give less. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 on a fateful Day. 5 a Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Nay! Surely the record of the wicked is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 And what could make thee conceive what that that mode inescapable will be? 8 A written record. 9 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies, 10 Those who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 And none gives the lie to it but every exceeder of limits, sinful one 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 then they shall enter the Fire of Hell, 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 A record [indelibly] inscribed, 20 Attested by those who are brought near (unto their Lord). 21 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous will indeed be in bliss: 22 On couches, gazing, 23 upon their faces thou wilt see the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 And mixed with water of Tasnim, 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 The sinners indeed laughed at believers 29 when them passed them by winking at one another, 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 And whenever they saw them, they would say, "Behold! These are the people truly astray!" 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers; 34 seated upon their couches, they are looking around. 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
