The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He has created man: 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
