Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 labouring, weary, 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 raised couches, 13 And cups put in place 14 And cushions lined up 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 thou canst not compel them [to believe]. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
