And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They said, "We worship idols and will continue to cling to them." 71 He said, 'Do they hear you when you call, 72 or benefit you or do you harm?" 73 They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so. 74 He said: "Do you observe that which you have been worshipping, 75 You and your ancient forefathers? 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 Who created me and showed me the way, 78 and Himself gives me to eat and drink, 79 He who cures me when I am ill; 80 And Who causeth me to die, then giveth me life (again), 81 and who, [hope, will forgive me my faults on Judgment Day! 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 And grant me an honourable mention in later generations; 84 and place me among those who shall inherit the garden of bliss! 85 And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. 86 Degrade me not upon the day when they are raised up, 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 except for him who comes to God with a pure heart. 89 And the garden shall be brought near for those who guard (against evil), 90 and the Fire will be uncovered for those who strayed, 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 Instead of Allah? Can they help you or help themselves? 93 Then the idols and those who strayed will be hurled into the Fire headlong, one upon another, 94 and the hosts of iblis all together. 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 "'By Allah, we were truly in an error manifest, 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 Now we have none to intercede for us, 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 But if we could but once return, we would be of the believers. 102 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 Your Lord is certainly Majestic and All-merciful. 104
