Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
