Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He was created of spurting water 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
