S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Sad. By the Qur'an containing reminder... 1 But the unbelievers are still full of pride and hostility. 2 Many a generation We did destroy before them – thereupon they cried out whereas it is not the time to escape! 3 They are surprised that a warner should come to them from among themselves. They say, "This is a magician, a great liar. 4 Has he turned so many gods into one deity? This is indeed a strange thing!" 5 A group of the pagans walked out of a meeting with the Prophet and told the others, "Let us walk away. Be steadfast in the worship of your gods. This man wants to dominate you. 6 We have not heard this in the religious community close to our time. This is nothing but a fabrication. 7 To him of all of us has the Reminder been sent down?" They are still in doubt about My admonition; but they have not tasted My punishment yet! 8 Or do they hold the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Do they own the heavens and the earth and all that is between them? Let them try on their own to block (the ways of heavens so that Our revelations cannot come to you). 10 [But] there it is: any and all human beings, however [strongly] leagued together, are bound to suffer defeat [whenever they refuse to accept the truth]. 11 Before them the people of Noah, Ad, and Pharaoh of the tent-pegs gave the lie (to the Messengers) 12 So also did the people of Thamud, Lot, and the dwellers of the Forest. 13 There was none of them but called the apostles liars, so just was My retribution. 14
