The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to those who give less [than due], 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, exact full measure, 2 but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce! 3 Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again 4 unto a mighty day 5 The day when (all) mankind stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 The record is a sealed text. 9 Woe on that Day unto the beliers 10 Those who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 Nay, verily, from [the grace of] their Sustainer shall they on that Day be debarred; 15 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 No indeed; the book of the pious is in Illiyun; 18 And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun? 19 A record of good deeds written. 20 Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it. 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 (reclining) upon couches they will gaze, 23 You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure. 24 They will be given pure wine out of sealed containers 25 its seal is musk, for this let the competitors compete; 26 for it is composed of all that is most exalting 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 The sinners indeed laughed at believers 29 And winked at one another as they passed by them; 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 And whenever they saw them, they would say, "Behold! These are the people truly astray!" 32 But they had not been sent as keepers over them! 33 On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 Did not the disbelievers get repaid for what they used to do? 36

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
