Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
