Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. 3 THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? 8 And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. 18 He who is given his ledger in his right hand, will say: "Here, read my ledger. 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 In an elevated garden, 22 its fruits are near. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 And not known my account! 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 and no food except pus 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
