Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
