Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
