Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 There is also evidence of the Truth within your own selves. Will you then not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
