Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
