Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
