AND HAS the story of Abraham's honoured guests ever come within thy ken? 24 When they came to him saying, "Peace be with you," he replied to their greeting in the same manner and said to himself, "These are a strange people". 25 Then he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf, 26 He placed it before them. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" 31 They answered: "Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin, 32 that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones 33 marked by your Lord for the sinful' 34 So We evacuated everyone who was a believer there, 35 But We found not there any just (Muslim) persons except in one house: 36 and We left therein a sign for those who fear a painful punishment. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and We cast them into the sea, and he blameworthy. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 which turned everything it approached into dust. 42 And in Thamud's also was a lesson, when it was said unto them: enjoy yourselves for a season. 43 But they brazenly disobeyed their Lord's command, and then a sudden chastisement overtook them while they looked on. 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 So were the People of Noah before them for they wickedly transgressed. 46
