Hast thou received the story of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 Behold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people." 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, and brought a fatted calf, 26 So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? 27 And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy. 28 Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! 29 They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." 30 ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” 31 They answered: "Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin, 32 to loose upon them stones of clay 33 Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. 34 Then We brought forth such as were therein of the believers. 35 And We found not therein more than one house of the Muslims. 36 and left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man. 39 So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 Then they disdained the command of their Lord; wherefore the bolt laid hold of them even while they looked on. 44 So they were not able to rise up, nor could they defend themselves- 45 And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. 46
