We built the universe with Our might, giving it its vast expanse. 47 And the earth, We have made it a wide extent; how well have We then spread (it) out. 48 And of everything We have created pairs that you may be mindful. 49 Flee, therefore, to Allah. Surely I am a clear warner to you from Him; 50 “And do not appoint other deities along with Allah; indeed I am from Him, a clear Herald of Warning towards you.” 51 [But] thus it is: never yet came any apostle to those who lived before their time but they said, "A spellbinder, ["sorcerer" is he,] or a madman!" 52 Have they inherited such dealings with the Prophets from their predecessors or are they a rebellious people? 53 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad), for thou art in no wise blameworthy, 54 but keep on exhorting them, for exhortation benefits the believers. 55 And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone). 56 I seek not any provision from them (i.e. provision for themselves or for My creatures) nor do I ask that they should feed Me (i.e. feed themselves or My creatures). 57 Verily Allah! He is the Provider, Owner of power, Firm. 58 And indeed, for those who have wronged is a portion [of punishment] like the portion of their predecessors, so let them not impatiently urge Me. 59 woe, then, to those who are bent on denying the truth, when the Day arrives which they have been promised. 60
