The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Mount; 1 And the Book written 2 On a parchment scroll unrolled, 3 And by the Bait-ul-Ma'mur (the house over the heavens parable to the Ka'bah at Makkah, continuously visited by the angels); 4 By the roof elevated. 5 And the swollen sea 6 verily your Lord's chastisement shall come to pass, 7 Of it there is no preventer. 8 On the day when the heavens will swiftly fly 9 and the mountains quickly move. 10 Then woe, that Day, to the deniers, 11 all those who [throughout their lives] but idly played with things vain 12 On that day they will be violently pushed into the fire 13 (And it is said unto them): This is the Fire which ye were wont to deny. 14 Is this magic, or is it that you do not see? 15 [Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do." 16 As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- 17 Rejoicing because of what their Lord gave them, and their Lord saved them from the punishment of the burning fire. 18 "Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for your good deeds," 19 Reclining on couches ranged. And We shall couple them with maidens wide eyed. 20 And those who believe and whose families follow them in Faith,- to them shall We join their families: Nor shall We deprive them (of the fruit) of aught of their works: (Yet) is each individual in pledge for his deeds. 21 And We will aid them with fruit and flesh such as they desire. 22 They shall pass on to one another a cup that will incite neither levity nor sin. 23 ۞ And there will go round on them youths appointed to attend them as though they were pearls hidden. 24 They will go to one another asking each other questions: 25 They will say: "Aforetime, we were not without fear for the sake of our people. 26 and so God has graced us with His favour, and has warded off from us all suffering through the scorching winds [of frustration]. 27 We had prayed to Him; He is Kind and All-merciful". 28
