The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Mount (Sinai), 1 and by the Book in lines 2 on wide-open scrolls. 3 Consider the long-enduring house [of worship]! 4 By the Canopy Raised High; 5 And the sea kept filled, 6 verily your Lord's chastisement shall come to pass, 7 There is none that can avert it; 8 On the Day when the heaven will shake with a dreadful shaking, 9 And the mountains shall pass away passing away (altogether). 10 Woe on that Day to those who deny the truth, 11 those who are in plunging, playing. 12 on that Day they shall be ruthlessly thrust into the Fire of Hell. 13 "This is the Fire which you used to deny. 14 “So is this magic, or are you unable to see?” 15 "Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds." 16 As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- 17 Enjoying the (Bliss) which their Lord hath bestowed on them, and their Lord shall deliver them from the Penalty of the Fire. 18 Eat and drink with relish for that which ye have been working. 19 (They shall be) reclining on couches ranged in rows and We shall wed them to houris (virgins of Paradise) with large wide eyes. 20 We shall unite the believers with those descendants of theirs who followed them in their faith, and shall not deny them any part of the reward for their good deeds. Every person is pledged to what he did. 21 And We shall increasingly give them fruit and meat such as they desire. 22 They will pass cups of un-intoxicating and unsinful wine to one another. 23 ۞ and youths, of their own, shall pass among them as if they were hidden pearls. 24 And some of them shall advance towards others questioning each other. 25 Saying: "We were also once full of fear at home. 26 But Allah hath been gracious unto us and hath preserved us from the torment of the breath of Fire. 27 we were before ever calling upon Him; surely He is the All-benign, the All-compassionate.' 28
