Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 He plunged the villages 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 while you make merry? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Stars (Al-Najm). Sent down in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
