Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
